Today is 9/11.

A day filled with undone dreams and squashed realities. A day where unresolved anger, for some of us, still lives. A day that reminds us everything can be gone in a flash.

This is the day that should bring us to our feet and cause us to shout: LIVE FREE. With a capital L and capital F. It should inspire us to GO FOR IT and NEVER BACK DOWN and all those other cliches that are cliches for a reason: They are true!!!

But I’m not sure the day is doing what it should…

I’m flying out of Washington DC today. Gulp! I am taking a Delta flight out of the National Airport; the closest airport to the White House, the Capitol Building and the entire mall.

I didn’t think about it when I booked it but this past week, it hit me. It’s 9/11 and I’M FLYING FROM DC. Geez Louise. I even had a moment where I actually thought about changing my ticket (but I didn’t. I checked in with my intuition and it said I will be safe. I choose to believe my intuition. Crossing my fingers and saying prayers doesn’t hurt either. :))

Now, I’m not into conspiracy theories or believing in superstitions yet 9/11 can have this awe-inspiring power to make me think twice. Why? Because our culture, our country, has been deeply impacted by 9/11. (I swear we all have Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder from it.)

The families who lost loved ones were left behind and had their lives shattered and we watched the whole thing on television. The mass mourning still reverberates in our cells. (Remember what I said about PTSD? I’m so not kidding about that…)

Jessica lost her mother on 9/11. I had the privilege of working with her in the Starting Over house. During our time together, she came to grips with the anger she felt; That unresolved anger that was eating her up inside.

Anger at so many things. Not just the terrorists who took down the plane that took her mother’s life, but the other people in her life who were very much still alive. And yes, she was even angry at her mother.

That’s hard to admit. But being willing to admit that you’re mad at the person who died is exactly what will get you healed.

On Starting Over, it was my job to help her get to the other side.

Think of the unresolved anger you might be carrying about someone or something in your life.

Can you think of how your unresolved anger might be causing havoc in your life?

Go ahead and watch the video (click on the photo below to watch) from Starting Over where I work with Jessica to let go of her unresolved anger. Perhaps you can do the same.

It’s time to let go….

It’s amazing how free you can feel when you let go of the burden of anger. I get it can be hard to do. Letting go of anger isn’t a hallmark greeting card. It’s sweat and blood and tears. And lots of it.

And letting go will save you from a life of regret, blame and shame.

I don’t know about you….but I will DO ANYTHING to live without regret, blame and shame.

How about you? Are you willing to let any unresolved anger go?

Do the Fearbuster Exercise™ I created for Jessica. I promise you that you will feel different after you do what I prescribed for her.

Be sure to share in the comments on the blog YOUR experience with unresolved anger. Helping each other is the only way we are going to get to the other side of fear.

Be brave and share in the comments on the blog so others know they aren’t alone who aren’t as brave as you are.

And always remember, consider me your Life Coach because I am right here, I absolutely know fear and I love supporting you.
