There are so many names for God. And so many ways we think, feel and express our relationship to our spiritual source. I have been fascinated by the response to sharing more of my spiritual beliefs.
Now, let me just be clear...I do not believe that the principles of Fearless Living belong to any one religion or belief system. In fact, I am fanatical about the fact that Fearless Living enhances what ever our belief system may be because Fearless Living works in conjunction with our beliefs, it is not meant to replace them.
In truth, I have always said that Fearless Living supports the life you want to live not the life FLI wants you to live. Frankly, its none of my business or FLI's whether you believe in Jesus or Buddha or Source or Universal Light, etc. That is your choice and FLI is all about empowering you to live more fully from your choices.
I know I am a better person because of FLI. I am more loving now as Jesus preached. I am more detached from results as Buddha espoused. I am more grateful as many religions encourage. I am more likely to be happy as modern psychology would find refreshing and more accepting as Yogis would find delightful. And I could go on...
Every religion or spiritual belief system or faith based ministry wants us to be in service to something greater than ourselves. And that is true for me. I might not pray the exact same way as you or call my God the same name yet that doesn't make us all that different in my eyes. I figure all of us, at the end of the day, are human. And being human can be scary sometimes.
I have personally seen coaches and participants who practice the tools of Fearless Living come from all different faiths and practices...Christianity, Buddhism, Jehovah's Witnesses, Judaism, Unitarian, Mormon, Native American beliefs, Science of Mind, Hinduism, Atheism and I could go on. And the only reason I know that is because they tell me. They describe to me how Fearless Living made them better believers in whatever they believed. (PJ the first season of Starting Over. If you remember, PJ grew up Mormon and was questioning her faith. By the end of our work together, she was more committed to being a Mormon, not less.)
I realize we must embrace and celebrate our differences yet in my Fearless World, I choose to focus on the fact that we all want to be better people and the principles of Fearless Living help me to do that over and over again...
