When You Do This, Life Gets So Abundant…

Can you accept a compliment with grace? Are you open to more love and prosperity in your life? Can you receive good tidings without questioning their validity?

Yes, giving is important. Yet, receiving is the second half of that equation. When you give you receive and when you receive you are giving.

Most of us are good at one of the other. If we are only givers, perhaps we push compliments away, tell people not to buy us something so expensive or deny we are important at work, home or in our community.

If we are only receivers, perhaps we see how things would benefit us in the short run, or we don’t think it is valuable to remember important events in our loved ones life, or we only see a situation from our point of view.

My experience has shown me that most of the world is givers. Sometimes afraid to be rejected or hurt. Maybe worried about what others think. But bottom line: People like to contribute. They like to give.

The challenge with givers is they can have a hard time receiving. They think it is selfish or egotistical. Or if someone does give, they can judge it by devaluing it or putting it down by saying it isn’t good enough for some reason or another. Many givers unable to receive don’t feel worthy of the gift.

Right now is an opportunity to not only to practice conscious giving, but also to actively receive all the good things that happen on a daily basis.

Saying yes to receiving means saying yes to compliments, free lunches, presents under the tree, great parking spots, a kind hello or a thoughtful gesture from a stranger or a friend.

Your ability to be prosperous in money and love are a direct reflection of your ability to receive. Not from a stingy place but from a flowing place. As you give, you receive. As others give to you, your job is to say yes and receive their love, praise and belief in you. As you become willing to say yes the more good is able to flow into your life.

Give with a generous heart yet don’t forget to receive all the goodness presented each and every day.

Fearbuster Exercise:

Keep a receiving list.

Write down any time someone gives you something whether it is a smile, picks up a dinner bill, gives you a compliment or offers to drive.

This will help you become more aware of all the things you receive on a daily basis as well as showing you what areas are a challenge.

This exercise will build your ability to receive and show you that you indeed do it daily unconsciously.

Own your power of receiving.
