I’m in love…I know I must be because I am making rational, grown-up decisions that affect both our lives. Let me explain.

Mr. Love-A-Lot lives in the mountains of Colorado. Because of that, I now live in the mountains of Colorado. Two years ago, as a gift to myself for becoming the Life Coach on Starting Over I purchased a Lexus Convertible SC430. Dark Blue, cream interior with wood accents…..beautiful and definitely an indulgence.

Up until that point, I had never purchased an expensive car in my life. The most I had ever spent was about 5K and that was the last car I had. Before that, I don’t think I ever spent more than 2K on a car from the time I was 16 until I was in my mid-30’s. So you can see, that for me, just considering buying a convertible was out of the norm.

Well, I test drove that convertible three times before I decided it was time to upgrade. I put down some cash, took a loan out for the rest, and drove away with the top down and the wind blowing in my hair. Ahhhhhhhhhh….I was in love.

Over the past two years that car has given me so much pleasure. After a hard day of coaching at the SO house, I would put the top down before I drove away so I could just feel free on the drive home.

But as I said, I now live in the mountains of Colorado and a convertible (with more than a half-a-year of winter) is impractical to say the least. Well, at this time in my life anyway.

I used to store it in LA between SO seasons yet now with no TV show scheduled (as of yet) Mr. Love-A-Lot and I drove it to Colorado this past spring. Yes, we enjoyed it this summer but now it is time to say good-bye.

Today is the last day it will be on ebay with a big ‘for sale’ sign on it. Like I said, I am making grown-up couple decisions…i.e. having a car stored for 7 months a year is not the best use of money with so many variables in my life up in the air.

Now you are probably wondering what I am driving. Well, Mr. Love-A-Lot and I purchased a mid-size SUV when the first snow hit in November. The compromise: It has a sunroof. 🙂

And don’t worry. I will have a convertible again. The minute I know I will be spending time in California on a regular basis for my own TV show (cross your fingers please and say some prayers) I will be going down to the dealership in LA and picking up another Lexus Convertible SC430 because I love that car….I love it.
